Name: Coop Reported: May 3, 2008 Location: Fairfield, Connecticut Message: This is a question more than a comment. For a number of years in Fairfield, Connecticut, I was a resident in a two family house owned by my family. I had been away at college and when I moved back, I moved into the lower half of the house. About a week or two into living there I started to notice frequent noises and creaking wood floors all of which I dismissed as to the house being old, Until one night I woke up in a panic completely freaked. I thought it was a bad dream until I saw a figure standing in the corner of my bedroom. I turned the lights on very quickly. I was unnerved and mad because I thought I had scared myself by being paranoid. That was until it continued. During this time I got very depressed almost suicidal. I was thinking of different ways I would kill myself if I was the type to do that. One night I woke up and the figure was standing in the corner again and I yelled at it because I was annoyed. “I said leave me alone. Get out of here!” My anger not fear made it easy for me to fall asleep again. About six weeks later I woke up with what felt like someone pushing on my chest. My throat was filled with what felt like mucus. I mean a lot of it. So much I felt like I was suffocating and I couldn’t breathe. And the figure was standing over me this time. I told my mother who had noticed a change in my behavior and I asked her if there was a ghost and who lived there before me. No she says. She then asks my grandmother who all in one fell swoop says to me, a man had committed suicide in the bathroom 60 years before when my great-grandmother had owned it. I wasn’t happy. This continued for a while and would get bad and dissipate then get bad again. I am curious as to why the mucus in my throat was so thick and what really caused it I have no medical ailments and I am in my twenties. Sincerely, Coop.
