Alleged Irish Footage Posted To Internet Is Fake
Alleged Irish Footage Posted To Internet Is Fake

I was a little surprised to see that REALUFOS.net Blog posted the following (7th Oct 2008).
The stunning irish triangle ufo video (Tuesday, October 07 2008)
This is the apparent Irish triangle Ufo i recently posted about. The footage was seen at the irish ufo conference and was filmed by senior garda pilot and witnessed by a Fianna Fail (irish) politician. If its a CGi its well done, if anyone knows anymore about the footage please reply to this post.
Unfortunately I can say categorically that this particular video is undoubtedly a fake. I posted the following comment/question that has yet to be answered (as are any comments):
“What information do you have access to that suggests it’s the Irish conference footage?
As (unfortunately) if you check the comment posted with the video it says:
“This is a video was on a cheap camera I found when Hiking in the Smokey Mountains . This is all that was on it.”
I assume(d) that the, “Smokey mountains” in question were of the Appalachian variety (rather than Irish)……
Also according to the latest article in the Meath chronicle then there were four triangles visible suggesting it was indeed a collection of point light sources rather than structured objects.
Are you relying solely on the various YouTube comments to establish this is the correct video?”
The above video which was alleged to be the Irish footage and is being perpetuated as such is 100% verifiable man-made competition entry. It was made by someone called Jeff Wilson, the following is an excerpt from the ‘HoaxResearchCenter’ website:
Speaking of Strange UFO Experience
Last year’s winner, and 3-year champion, Jeff Wilson, created a triangular helium-lifted craft, remote controlled, with multiple stages. He was able to scan the audience with a laser, release smoke to enshroud his creation, and even switch the craft’s lighting structure instantly, producing the illusion of a different object.

(1) Recent alleged Irish UFO footage.
(2) Jeff Wilson 2006 man-made UFO in flight.
(3) Jeff Wilson 2006 man-made UFO display.
While the images of the toy UFO created by Jeff Wilson that can be found on their website are certainly similar it’s not the exact same one BUT that’s because it’s the 2006 craft, however if we have a look at some of the footage from the 2007 competition….. (The relevant section is around the 3:30 mark).
As you can see the exact same footage WITH original audio.
For links to video clips of all the other competition footage then please visit L.E.M.U.R. forums here, it also includes 2008 footage in which Jeff only managed 2nd place losing out to what was titled in the subsequent press release as:
” Phoenix Lights” UFO Effect Recreated for $25 at Contest
Second Place went to Jeff Wilson, the 3-year First Place Winner since the events inception, in 2005. Wilson is also the first UFO champion to go on Coast to Coast AM, briefly interviewed along with Joshua P. Warren on August 19, 2008. Jeff’s initial plans went awry when there were unexpected problems with his main entry, so he had to compete by entering a secondary craft, far less elaborate than his original. Jeff’s unexpected problem was echoed by the new champion, Jim, since Jim’s grand finale, a huge balloon with multiple-stage effects, also had to be cancelled at the last minute due to a frame break that could not be easily repaired. This is a great example of the significant technical challenges these talented engineers face, and illustrates the difficulty in faking some of the extreme UFO sightings reported throughout history.
‘It blew everyone away,’ said event organizer Joshua P. Warren. ‘This is a valuable piece of data for anyone interested in analyzing UFO imagery. It’s a great example of how studying a fake can help us analyze the real thing.’
The above release is available to read at the L.E.M.U.R. forums where it was originally posted on the 6th October (2008).
Sunderland UK UFO: Cylindrical UFO Sighting – Wednesday 29th October, 2008
The following was recently posted to the UFOCasebook forum by a new member who signed up to report the sighting and also to ask for any information regarding it:
Wed 29th Oct, 2008 – Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, North-East England.
“At around 9.00am, I was looking out of a west-facing upstairs window in my house when I saw an airliner coming from the north and heading roughly southwest at maybe 2,000 – 3,000 feet. It was clearly visible and stood out against a cloudless blue sky. I watched the plane for a few seconds before I realised there was something wrong with what I was looking at – the body of the plane was very wide and it was travelling too slowly for an airliner at that height. I grabbed a small pair of 10×25 binoculars and was able to focus on the plane for maybe half a minute before it moved out of sight behind nearby trees.
Through the binoculars I could see it wasn’t an airliner, but a rocket-shaped cylinder – cream or off-white in colour – travelling horizontally like a cruise missile. There were no wings or fins, no markings, no flashing lights, and no flames or smoke trail. The front of the cylinder was definitely pointed and the end was solid, with no darkened area to suggest a jet exhaust.
Guessing the altitude to be 1,000 feet, I estimated the cylinder to be about 50 feet long (but this could all be way out) and I came to the conclusion that it must be some sort of balloon drifting in the wind. To confirm this theory, I emailed the UK Met Office on Thursday morning who told me the wind direction at 9.00am on Wednesday was westerly. This means the object was travelling against the wind under its own power. Very difficult to estimate its speed, but I would guess around 100 - 150mph.
I’m sure no self-respecting alien would be seen dead travelling around in a magnolia-painted space craft so I’m assuming the cylinder originated on this planet. Whatever it was, the sky was so clear it must have been seen by dozens if not hundreds of people as it headed southwest from the north of England . If anybody saw it or knows what it was, would you please enlighten me.”
RAF Officer Spots UFO On Radar
RAF radar chief: ‘I saw UFO fleet’
AN RAF expert yesterday revealed how he tracked a whole fleet of, “spaceships” on military radar — but the Ministry of Defence told him to keep quiet. Wing Commander Alan Turner, 64, said colleagues sat stunned when 35 super-fast vessels appeared on their screens.
Map shows the UFOs’ path across southern England
Wing Cmdr Turner, who was a chief operator of the RAF’s radar system for 29 years, said the craft were equally spaced and shot from 3,000ft to 60,000ft at almost 300mph. Incredibly, every few seconds one of the UFOs would suddenly vanish from radar and be replaced by an identical vessel moments later. Wing Cmdr Turner said six military radars, plus operators at Heathrow, spotted the UFOs east of Salisbury Plain and filed reports on the unexplained phenomenon in 1971.
The RAF chief even drew a map charting their flight in between key sites like RAF Lyneham, Wilts, and the aircraft navigation transmitter at Brookmans Park, Herts. Three days later, the Ministry of Defence visited the RAF and instructed staff to “never speak about the incident again”.
Wing Cmdr Turner, who retired from the RAF in 1995, said:
“UFOs are a fact — I tracked them on military radar units.…..What I saw defied all logic and was, quite frankly, extraordinary…..It wasn’t just me…..More than 30 pairs of eyes of RAF staff and radar operators at Heathrow Airport witnessed the same thing…..It’s arrogant to believe that we’re the only ones in this universe…..I instantly knew this wasn’t a convoy of military planes…..The only craft with that rate of climb were supersonic lightning aircraft but they wouldn’t have been able to hold such a perfect formation…..They also make a lot of noise…..No one heard a thing on the night in question.”
Wing Cmdr Turner, a dad of three, of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, was a radar supervisor at the now disused RAF Sopley base, Dorset, in 1971. He was awarded an MBE in 1984, is guest speaker at the Close Encounters conference in Pontefract, West Yorks, next month.
Philip Mantle, of UFO Data magazine, said:
“His testimony is remarkable.”

RAF officer breaks 37-year silence on UFO radar mystery
IT IS a close encounter of the official kind. A former RAF officer has claimed that UFOs are real and may have invaded UK airspace, branding official resistance to such theories as “stupid and arrogant”. Wing Commander Alan Turner MBE was sworn to secrecy after he tracked a series of unidentified objects soaring over southern England at incredible speeds. But now the airman, who was honoured by the Queen for his years of distinguished service, hasbroken his silence and spoken publicly for the first time about his extraordinary experience.
Turner, 64, a former head of air traffic control at RAF Lossiemouth, insists it is “stupid and arrogant” to rule out the existence of extra-terrestrials and is open to the suggestion that he witnessed craft from another world. But the Ministry of Defence stressed last night there were “realistic explanations” for such reports. The incident, which has baffled and haunted Turner for decades, took place at RAF Sopley on the south-west coast of England in the summer of 1971. At the time he was Duty Military Supervisor and had the responsibility of monitoring the skies on radar screens for potential Soviet incursions.
On the day in question, Turner and his 13 colleagues were alarmed by a sudden and unexpected development.
“I can clearly remember people shouting: ‘What the hell is that?’ I got to a console and people were loudly telling me to look to the east of Salisbury Plain…..Twenty miles east of the eastern extremity was a series of returns, or radar blips, which were appearing in that position. There were five of them initially. Then six and then seven all following the same track…..They were tracking south-east, each exactly six to seven miles apart and moving at exactly the same speed. At about 40 miles from the point they appeared on radar, they disappeared, to be followed almost immediately by a replacement at the point of origin…..The objects were about 3,000ft above ground level when they first appeared and climbed so rapidly that, by the time they disappeared from radar they were in excess of 60,000ft…..To climb to such a height in only 40 miles was beyond the ability of almost any fighter aircraft at that time.”
In a bid to solve the mystery Turner diverted an RAF Canberra jet, which was returning from West Germany, to intercept the intruders.
“When the pilot got within a mile or so of one particular blip, he reported, in a very agitated voice, that his radar had picked up something on his port side that was ‘climbing like the clappers’. Neither the pilot nor his navigator made any visual contact with whatever it was.”
Within days, Turner was summoned into the Squadron Leader’s office and questioned by two men, who wore civilian clothes and were not identified, about the incident.
“I, along with all the others who were in the room on that day, were told in no uncertain terms not to relate what we had seen until cleared to do so.”
Turner, who was awarded the MBE in 1984 and retired from the force in 1995, has been assured that there were no training operations, classified or otherwise, going on at the time and there were no weather balloons or probes in the area.
“I have no idea what they were, but I certainly wouldn’t rule out the possibility that they were UFOs. There is certainly a chance that we have been visited by extra-terrestrials….It is terribly arrogant and silly to think that we are alone in the universe…..I have spoken to three ex-Air Force mates, who held senior positions, and they have seen similar things, but did not report them as they felt their personal integrity would be questioned. That is why I kept quiet for so long, but I know what I saw.”
He feels the time is right to end his silence and has accepted an invitation to be the keynote speaker at an international UFO conference in Pontefract, Yorkshire, next month.
